Nothing is preparing two pairs of smart glasses, according to leaker Roland Quandt on Bluesky. The first has no camera. It plays audio, takes calls, works with the voice assistant on your phone, and has photochromic lenses that darken on their own in bright light. The second pair adds a camera, along with ChatGPT, translation and other features Quandt didn't spell out. There's no price, design or launch date yet. An earlier report said the company was aiming its first glasses at 2027 and would hand the AI work off to your phone and the cloud.

Meta made the same split when it added the camera-free Ray-Ban Meta Audio next to its camera models, giving up the camera for a lighter frame and longer battery life. Cameras are what let the AI see what you're looking at. They're also why people have been filmed without knowing it, and why venues and workplaces are now restricting smart glasses. If the camera is what has kept you from buying a pair, Nothing's audio model is the one to wait for, and that earlier report points to 2027.
