Returns and warranty details

Returns

  • Free return shipping

Samsung emails a prepaid label after Order Support approves the return; drop small items at the carrier named on the label. You then have 15 days to ship it.

  • 5% restocking fee

For Galaxy Z Series phones unless it arrived damaged or defective.

  • Send it back like new

New or like-new condition, in the original packaging, with everything that came in the box, and factory reset with your accounts removed. Damaged, altered or incomplete returns are rejected or refunded less.

  • How you get your money back

Refund goes to your original payment method after inspection. Samsung reviews within 10 business days of the item reaching the warehouse, minus any restocking fee or non-refundable charges.

Warranty

Covered

  • Defects in materials and workmanship

Samsung warrants to the original buyer that the product is free from defects in material and workmanship under normal use and service for the warranty period. The period starts on delivery, or for a device on first set-up and activation, whichever comes first.

  • Battery covered below 80%

The warranty covers batteries only if capacity falls below 80% of rated capacity or the battery leaks, and not if that was caused by a third-party charger, tampering, use in other equipment, outside force, or battery repair not approved by Samsung.

Not covered

  • Water damage

Damage from liquid, moisture, dampness, sand, dust or dirt is not covered when the exposure is inconsistent with the product's specifications and instructions. Exposure within the stated rating is not named as excluded.

  • Accidents and misuse

Damage caused by accident, misuse, abnormal use, neglect or unusual physical stress is not covered.

  • Scratches and dents

Scratches, dents and cosmetic damage are not covered.

  • Normal wear and aging

Ordinary wear and tear is not covered.

  • Damage from repair service or parts not furnished or approved by Samsung is not covered
  • Loss or theft

The list of external causes that are not covered includes theft.

  • Add Samsung Care+

Cracked screen repairs $0 per claim. Theft and loss deductible $99 to $199 depending on device. Monthly or one-time 2-year payment.

  • How it gets fixed

Samsung chooses to repair the defect or replace the product without charge, and may use rebuilt, reconditioned or new parts or products. If Samsung finds the product is not covered, you pay all parts, shipping and labor.

Good to know

  • Folding screen
Separate from the warranty, Samsung's Z-series offer gives one free replacement of the inner (foldable) screen protector within one year of purchase or activation, for damage from any cause such as scratches, bubbles or lifting, except abuse or misuse.
Later replacements cost $19.99 plus tax. Samsung advises not removing the protector yourself. The Standard Limited Warranty itself says nothing specific about the inner screen beyond its general exclusions (for example pressing on the touch screen with excessive force).
  • Carrier-activated phones

Contact your carrier about canceling service. You are responsible for the carrier agreement and its fees.

  • Trade-in

Returning the new device cancels the trade-in, and a trade-in already completed cannot be sent back to you.

  • Free promotional items and bundles

Return every promotional item for a full refund, or the value of a missing one is taken off the refund.

  • Samsung Care+

Return a device with Samsung Care+ within 15 days of delivery and the plan is canceled and refunded.

  • Samsung Experience Store (in person)

In-store purchases go back to the store, in person, within 15 days of purchase.
