Samsung shipped its September 2026 security patch this week and updated the page that lists which devices still qualify for one. SamMobile spotted that the Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 4 Classic had come off it. Both went on sale in mid-2021 running Wear OS 3, the first Galaxy Watches to use Google's software after Samsung retired Tizen, and they collected four major versions on the way out: Wear OS 3.5, 4, 5 and 6. August's patch was the last one either will get, and the final build numbers all end in JZG3.

Nothing stops working today. A Watch 4 still tells the time and still tracks your sleep, and what it won't get is another feature or another fix. Owners of the Classic have the harder decision, because the rotating bezel was the reason a lot of them bought it, and the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic is the only current Samsung watch whose bezel actually turns. The Watch Ultra 2 has one, and it's there for looks. The battery gap is the other thing to weigh: the Watch 4 shipped with 248mAh in the 40mm and 361mAh in the 44mm, against 800mAh in the Ultra 2.
