Four of the six smallest Fenix 9 watches are listed with inReach.

InReach is Garmin's satellite messaging service, the thing that sends a text from a mountain with no phone in your pocket and no cell signal for fifty miles. It has always lived in the big Fenix cases. The listings put it in the 43mm, which is the size people buy when a 51mm watch is a brick on their wrist.

Fitness Tracker Test found the listings on the Czech Garmin retailer SkiAndBike: 18 configurations, six each at 43mm, 47mm and 51mm, with model names, Garmin's own product numbers and colour combinations attached. There are no descriptions and no images yet. The four 43mm inReach watches are named down to the finish, Titanium Shell with Atmosphere, Titanium Gray with Dark Sandstone, Carbon Gray DLC Black with Pebble, and Gold Cream with Fog Gray, which is not the level of detail a placeholder page carries.

The Fenix 8 Pro kept the satellite and LTE hardware in the larger watches.

The display picture is a split rather than a merge. AMOLED runs across all three sizes. Solar sits in its own separate branch at 47mm and 51mm as "Pro Solar inReach" models, so this is not Garmin bolting solar charging onto an AMOLED screen, it is the older MIP display line staying alive alongside the bright one. The 43mm has no Solar version at all. And MicroLED, the display technology Garmin introduced on the Fenix 8 Pro, appears on none of the 18.

Garmin has its "Play Harder" event on Tuesday, 25 August. We wrote on 6 August that Garmin cleared the FCC with a watch it would not name, carrying radios for phone-free calls and satellite messages, with the photos sealed until 2027. We wrote on 22 August that Garmin's own app had already booked 25 August under an internal number. A retailer in the Czech Republic has now published the colourways.
