Samsung has confirmed a US price of $229 for the Galaxy Buds On, its first clip-on, open-ear earbuds, with sales starting in early November, SamMobile reported. They go on sale November 6, in black and in one size. Each bud weighs 6.65 grams and plays up to 9.5 hours of music on a charge, or 38 hours with the case, and they are rated IP54 for dust and splashes.
They make the most sense next to a Galaxy phone. Many of the features need one running One UI 8.5 or later, and SoundGuys found there is no multipoint Bluetooth, so they can't stay connected to two devices at once, while automatic switching works only between Samsung devices. Samsung pitches them as a second pair beside the Galaxy Buds4 Pro, for outdoor runs or when you need to hear what's around you. If you use an iPhone or another Android phone, $229 buys you less, so wait for the first reviews of how they sound before you order.
