Google launched the Fitbit Edge today at $179.99. Pre-orders are open now, and it reaches shelves on October 27. It replaces the Fitbit Charge 6 and sits between the screenless Fitbit Air and the Pixel Watch 5. The screen is 46% larger than the Charge 6's, the battery is rated for up to seven days, and five minutes on the charger buys a full day. It's also the first Fitbit with a battery you can replace, as Android Authority reported. That's the only repairable part so far, and Google hasn't said whether it'll sell self-repair kits.

There's no NFC chip, so you can't pay with it. Google's AI Watch Face Generator stays on the Pixel Watch 5 too. The Edge runs Fitbit OS, the software on the Fitbit Air, not Wear OS, which is why it also works with an iPhone. It launches in 20 countries, including the US, Canada, the UK, Japan and Australia, but not India, per Android Headlines. A Stephen Curry Special Edition costs $219.99. The leak we covered a week ago had the swappable battery right.
