The iPhone Air 2 could be thinner than the original and still last longer on a charge. Korean leaker yeux1122 says Apple is trimming the body from 5.6mm to 5.2mm, according to Android Headlines.

Apple's reported answer is denser battery cells rather than a smaller pack, which would put the Air 2 above the 3,149mAh cell in today's Air. The frame stays titanium, and the front gets the smaller Dynamic Island coming to the iPhone 18 Pro. At 5.2mm the phone would match an unfolded iPhone Duo and sit well under the 5.8mm Galaxy S25 Edge.

The leak pairs the new battery with an A20 Pro processor, an updated N2 wireless chip and a custom C2 modem, which should draw less power and give off less heat in a body this tight. Earlier reports already put the Air 2 on a 6.5-inch screen with 12GB of RAM and a battery around 3,500mAh, so the new detail is the thinner body and how the battery gets bigger inside it.

The first Air drew complaints for its battery and for having a single rear camera. The Air 2 is said to answer the camera with a 48-megapixel ultrawide beside the 48-megapixel main sensor. Between the denser cells and the second lens, both of those complaints get an answer.

The leak puts the launch in spring 2027, the same window we're tracking, and Apple hasn't announced a second Air. If battery life or that lone camera kept you off the first one, that's the date to watch.
