Samsung is reported to be working on its first open-ear earbuds for the fourth quarter of 2026, after they failed to appear at Unpacked as expected. Android Headlines: "The Galaxy Buds Able, unlike the regular Galaxy Buds, may adopt an open-ear, clip-on design that wraps around the outer ear."

Two things the reporting has not settled. The name splits by outlet, Buds Able in one account and Buds On in the other, and the technology was open at this point too: SammyGuru wrote that "Moreover, the upcoming clip-on earbuds could use bone-conduction technology." Later coverage of the leaked app images landed on open-ear rather than bone conduction.
