Apple put it in the fine print of its Health Sensing announcement for Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4, where MacRumors found the disclosure. Certain Apple Intelligence features that rely on server-side models are subject to daily usage limits, Siri AI among them, along with the intelligent photo editing tools, Image Playground and the cloud models in Shortcuts. Expanded access to such features will be available for a fee in the future. Apple did not say what that fee is or how it gets charged, though at WWDC it said higher iCloud+ tiers would include expanded access, and the limits themselves move with the feature, the complexity of the request and how busy the system is.
In footnote 3 of the iPhone 18 Pro press release, Apple wrote that Siri AI will not be available initially in the EU on iOS, iPadOS, and watchOS, and that features relying on it will not be either. The Mac Observer published the footnote in full, and its closing sentence has not appeared before: Apple is working hard to find a path forward that preserves its users’ privacy and security. Nothing sits behind the word initially. No regulation is named in it either.
