What reviewers say

ReportedNo outlet published a separate scored review of both, so reviews do not break the tie.

A pick needs at least 2 independent outlets that published a separate scored review of each product on the same scale, all of them favouring the same one, and an average lead of at least 5 points out of 100. Outlets with one owner count once. Scores are the outlets' own; iDevice did not test these products for them.

Where they differ

Still a tie on the makers' figures: the two read the same on water resistance. Pick on price, or on what each Guide says it is best for.

  • Water resistance: levelAmazfit T-Rex 3 Pro: 10 ATM; freediving and recreational scuba to 45 m ConfirmedSourceGarmin Instinct 3: 10 ATM, water-rated to 100 meters; built to MIL-STD 810 ConfirmedSource

Compared only where both makers' specifications give one figure in the same unit and under the same conditions, and only when one side leads by at least 20% (battery, brightness) or a whole class (water rating, noise cancelling, subscription). A criterion with no such figure is left out, never guessed.
