Apple broadcast a live Major League Baseball game shot in 3D at 8K with a 180-degree field of view, putting Vision Pro owners on the dugout rail for the Red Sox at the Yankees. Each half inning came from a single fixed camera next to the on-deck circle, switching sides between innings so you always sat with the team at bat, and that restraint is what the reviewers singled out. Above the field Apple hung a virtual jumbotron carrying the scoreboard and the ordinary 16:9 television feed, so catching a replay meant looking up rather than cutting away from the play.
Jason Snell, writing at Six Colors, said the broadcast felt much more like sitting at Yankee Stadium than watching a game. John Gruber wrote: "The whole thing was legit exciting." He has also written that Apple has not sold many Vision Pros and will not until the headsets get cheaper and lighter. Michael Simon had never wanted one at all, and he came away calling the game almost as breathtaking as being at Yankee Stadium.
