WRSLT smart rings translate sign language at 88 percent accuracy

Seven rings worn across the fingers hit 88% accuracy translating sign language from people the system had never seen before, which is genuinely impressive for motion-tracking hardware. But the WRSLT system knows only 100 words. American Sign Language has tens of thousands. A deaf person ordering coffee, describing symptoms to a doctor, or arguing with their landlord needs far more than 100 words. The rings beat the gloves. They do not yet beat the problem.
