How do I charge it, and what is in the box?
It charges over a magnetic USB-C cable. The box holds the device, a silicone case, a neck lanyard, that cable and a quick start guide. Omi does not publish a charge time, so we do not give one.
Can it hear only me, or everyone?
Everyone. Omi captures your voice and the people around you, and speech profiles tell who is speaking. Omi adds that recording laws differ by place, so tell people when you are recording where that is required.
Is my data safe?
Omi says the device is SOC 2 and HIPAA compliant, with TLS in transit and AES-256 at rest. You can delete anything at any time, and because Omi is open source you can run it locally instead of in the cloud.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Omi keeps recording offline and syncs when you are back online, so nothing is lost. It transcribes in 25+ languages either way.
How do I wear it?
On the cord it ships with, on a clip, or on the wrist band Omi sells separately. The cord and a silicone cover are in the box.
What is the warranty, and how do returns work?
Every device carries a 1-year limited warranty. Read Omi's Return and Refund Policy for the window, because Omi's own pages do not agree on it: the policy page says a return must be requested within five days of delivery, while its help centre says three. Damaged, defective or incorrect items are covered for fifteen days, and buyers in the EU and the UK may cancel within fourteen days for any reason.
How long does shipping take?
