Apple plans to show its first smart glasses at WWDC in June 2027, per Mark Gurman. A consumer release follows by the end of that year. WWDC is the developer conference Apple holds every June, so the first people to handle the glasses write software for them rather than buy them.
In October 2025 the plan was to unveil the model as soon as the following year, ahead of a release in 2027. By April 2026 it was the end of 2026 or early 2027. The date on it now is June 2027, and the release has not moved off the back half of that year.
The device is codenamed N50. It pairs with an iPhone and has no display of its own, so the phone in your pocket does the seeing and the glasses do the wearing.
Privacy is the stated focus of both the product and the way it gets sold, per Gurman. That is the pitch being prepared eleven months before anyone outside Apple sees the hardware.
N50 was first described in October 2025. Two years later, at the earliest, somebody can buy one.
