The Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 is 12% thinner than the watch it replaces.

Samsung put that down to advanced internal re-engineering. Leaks before launch described a boxier shape with thinner bezels, and the thinner part is the half that survived contact with the announcement.

It is still 47mm and still titanium. The markings on the casing still read sapphire crystal, LTE, GPS and a 10ATM rating, and the display inside the squircle is still round.

Line markings are gone from the bezel. The numbers 1 through 12 sit around the dial in their place.

The side button loses its all-orange face for an orange outline.

On the strap, the ridged pattern is gone and the dual buckle stays.

Two finishes at launch, Titanium Gray and Titanium Silver, $700 on preorder and general availability from August 7.

Evan Blass posted the marketing images on July 21. Samsung's own announcement carried the same figure a day later.
