Apple put the iOS 27 date in the press release for the iPhone 18 Pro: Monday, September 14, as a free update. Siri AI is the headline addition and it arrives in beta, in English only. French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish follow in October. The Mac Observer reported that the date lands two days after iPhone 18 Pro pre-orders open and four days before the phone reaches stores.
The release does not list which iPhone models iOS 27 supports, and Apple has not said when Siri AI leaves beta. That reaches past the phone. Hands-free Siri on the AirPods 5 needs iOS 27 and an iPhone that supports Apple Intelligence, so anyone pre-ordering the earbuds is buying into a list Apple has not published. The rest of the update is Image Playground with photorealistic images, Safari Notify Me, iPhone Handoff, which Apple calls carrier-dependent, and Apple Reference Image, which stores an untouched original with verification metadata alongside edits so a photo can be shown to come from a real capture rather than AI.
