Apple has raised its iPhone Duo orders with suppliers by 30%, the Chinese financial paper Securities Times reported. Pre-orders open Friday, October 16. The paper put total Duo supply for the rest of 2026 at no more than 10 million units, and against earlier estimates of six to seven million, that puts Apple's new target close to the cap.

The same supply chain sources said iPhone 18 Pro Max orders are up 10% to 15% and iPhone 18 Pro orders are down by about as much, so the total for the Pro line hasn't moved. That doesn't match Nikkei Asia's report last week that Apple cut October component orders for both Pro phones by 15% to 20%. A bigger Duo order means more of the foldable to go around this year than Apple first planned. If you want one at launch, Friday is still the day to order.
