Apple wants its smart glasses to track health and fitness the way the Apple Watch does, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reported in August 2026. He said those features likely will not come on the first model.

The first pair, due in 2027, focuses on cameras, sound and Siri. Around the same time, Apple posted a job for someone to define health, well-being and fitness experiences across its vision products.

Gurman said health features are more likely to arrive on the second generation.

Frequently asked

Frequently asked

Will the glasses track health and fitness?
Not at launch. Reporting describes the capability arriving over years, after the first generation, and the evidence is a job listing rather than a prototype.
How solid is a job listing as evidence?
It establishes intent rather than a shipping feature, and it is a document anyone can read. Apple explored the same idea for Vision Pro and dropped it because the headset was too heavy to wear through a workout.
