Here is what shipped and what broke this week for the Guides we track, with each update filed under its device.
Apple iPhone Duo
iOS 27.2 gave the Duo two features of its own. Apple Pencil (USB-C) now works on both the outer and inner displays, and Edge Light, a ring of light around the screen edge, comes to FaceTime and third-party video calls. The Apple TV app also picked up Multiview, which shows four live sports streams at once and suits the Duo's big inner screen.
Even Realities G2
Version 2.4.0 for the G2 glasses overhauls Conversate with a Pro Mode that draws on a new Knowledge Base, a store of the information you choose to keep. It also moves the glasses to Even AI 2.0.
Oura confirmed that Ring 4 firmware 2.13.1 can leave a ring unable to sync, mostly after a move to a new phone without a factory reset.
Oura Ring 4
Oura confirmed that Ring 4 firmware 2.13.1 can leave a ring unable to sync, mostly after a move to a new phone without a factory reset. The issue is still open. Oura's workaround is to put the ring on its charger, open the app and give it time to reconnect.
Samsung Galaxy Watch 9
The Galaxy Watch 9 is getting the October 2026 security patch, first in Korea on the Bluetooth models, and a second report matches. It is a security update with no major new features, and the cellular versions follow.
Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra 2
Samsung confirmed that the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 can fail to show a VO2 Max reading after a run that meets the stated conditions, and says a fix will come in a future watch software update. There is no date yet.
Google Fitbit Air
Health app v5.11 brings Health Guardian to the Fitbit Air, with Blood Pressure and Insulin Resistance trends. Blood Pressure trends need five days of wear and Insulin Resistance trends need seven. Google says the same update improves automatic activity tracking on Fitbit trackers and Pixel Watches.
Pixel Watch 5
Google confirmed a battery drain problem on the Pixel Watch and says a fix is coming as soon as possible. It has not given a cause or a date. Owners describe watches that used to last a day or two now dying in about half a day.
