Apple’s September 9 keynote ran through the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, the iPhone Duo, AirPods 5, and the Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4. It included no home hub, no HomePod mini refresh and no new HomePod, and Apple’s Newsroom has no press release for any home product. The reporting that ran before the keynote was specific about what was coming: a 7-inch display with a camera and presence sensors, and a HomePod mini with a faster chip. The Mac Observer reported that leaked code for an Apple TV 4K pointed at an A19 or A19 Pro chip. None of it appeared on stage. None of it has a press release, a price or a date.
Those reports tied the hub’s timing to Apple’s revamped Siri, and Apple has now dated that Siri. Siri AI arrives on September 14 in beta, in English first, with French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish following in October. Apple hasn’t connected Siri AI to any home product, and it hasn’t said whether that beta status affects when a hub could ship. For the home lineup, the position is what it was on September 8.
