Apple won't sell the iPhone Duo to walk-in customers in Japan or South Korea when it goes on sale on Friday, October 23. Notices on its Japanese and Korean websites say the foldable and the iPhone 18 Pro Max will only go to buyers who've booked a pickup time in advance. Apple hasn't said why. Shipping estimates slipped to late January soon after pre-orders opened, and Apple has called the early demand extraordinary.

Elsewhere, Apple hasn't said whether its stores will take walk-ins, but some store staff have been told to warn people without an order not to come in on launch day. In the US, the online store also stops you at two Duos per checkout. If you missed pre-orders, look for pickup slots on Apple's online store from October 24 instead of lining up.
