Privacy Display won't be an Ultra-only feature next year. Korean media report that Samsung starts making the Galaxy S27 Pro's OLED panels this month, and those panels have Privacy Display built in, SammyGuru reported.
Samsung launched Privacy Display on the Galaxy S26 Ultra earlier this year. It hides what's on your screen from anyone looking over your shoulder, with no stick-on privacy filter. The panel steers the light from each pixel so the screen goes dark from the side. You can turn it on and off, or use it only for certain apps or notifications, which is handy for banking or messages on a crowded train.
No other Samsung phone has it yet. The S27 Ultra is expected to keep it, and the S27 Pro would make two.
The Pro and the Ultra are also said to use Samsung's newer M16 OLED materials. The base S27 and S27+ would stay on the older M14 set and skip Privacy Display altogether. The feature itself may also get some improvements over the S26 Ultra version.
Samsung is pitching the Pro as a top-tier flagship in a compact size, sitting just below the Ultra. Until now, the only way to get Samsung's best screen tech was to buy its biggest and most expensive phone.
Samsung hasn't announced any of this. All four S27 models are expected to launch in early 2027.
If Privacy Display is the reason you're eyeing an S26 Ultra, and you'd rather have a smaller phone, it's worth holding off a few months to see the S27 Pro. If you want the base S27 or S27+, don't expect it on those.
