Samsung used its third-quarter earnings call to say each Galaxy S27 model will feel more different from the others. The company said it wants every phone in the 2027 line tailored to a different kind of buyer. It didn't name features. It did say the line will get hardware upgrades, better performance, longer battery life and new Galaxy AI features.

SammyGuru, which covered the call, expects four phones: the S27, the S27+, the S27 Ultra and a new S27 Pro. The Pro is meant to bring Ultra-class specs to a smaller body, without the S Pen. The Pro and the Ultra are expected to share a new camera design, with the lenses on one rectangular slab instead of separate rings.

Samsung also said it's working on new 200MP camera sensors for upcoming flagships. Its Exynos 2700 chip is still on track, with better gaming and AI performance.

The mobile business has been losing money, mostly because parts cost more. Samsung said that isn't stopping work on new shapes. Research continues on new form factors, including another TriFold. SammyGuru reports the next TriFold could arrive alongside Samsung's first sliding phone in 2027.

Next to the Galaxy Z Fold 9, Fold 9 Ultra and Flip 9, SammyGuru expects a second take on the Fold 9 that keeps the passport-style shape. Whether that's a cheaper model or a pricier one hasn't been settled.

Reports already point to higher S27 prices, especially on bigger storage tiers, and nothing on this call pushed back on that. If you're weighing an S26 now, the S27 is shaping up as a real redesign at the top of the range rather than a spec bump, but expect to pay more for it when it lands early next year.
