Polar's Flow app now contains references to a Loop Gen 3, according to an APK teardown by Gadgets & Wearables. The outlet compared Flow 7.37.0 with version 7.36.2 and found the name is new in the newer release. Polar hasn't said anything about it.
The name sits in a device profile tied to the hardware identifiers INW6R and Polar_INW6R, and Polar's wider device registry has a matching "loop gen 3" entry. It lives in the code the app uses to recognise connected hardware, which is harder to dismiss than a stray promotional file. There is one odd detail. The profile's marketing-name field still reads "Polar Loop Gen 2", though the recognition code explicitly accepts "Polar Loop Gen 3". One possibility is that Polar is still tidying internal labels before anything goes public.
The timing is the surprise. Polar launched the current screen-free Loop in September 2025 as a subscription-free alternative to products such as Whoop, so it is barely a year old. A third-generation name this soon would point to a faster hardware cycle than buyers might expect.
The same update names a Polar 360 Gen 2, with a profile tied to a new INW6S hardware identifier. The original Polar 360 also turned up in Flow before its wider business rollout. Polar describes it as a screen-free platform for companies that want to build health and fitness services around its sensors, software tools and data.
The still-unannounced H12 got more detail too. Version 7.37.0 adds setup text saying the sensor can broadcast heart rate to as many as four Bluetooth devices at once. New secure and open modes let the wearer choose whether nearby devices can pick up the signal easily, and secure mode is described as keeping heart-rate data from being picked up by anyone. That would suit people who move between watches, gym equipment, training apps and cycling computers.
None of this is confirmation. The updated onboarding package has no images of the Loop Gen 3 or Polar 360 Gen 2, and the onboarding file is unchanged from 7.36.2. App code can arrive months before a product, survive after plans change or cover hardware that never gets a normal retail launch. The INW6R model number hasn't shown up in any regulatory database Gadgets & Wearables monitors, which makes a 2026 launch look less likely and early 2027 the more realistic window.
