The Galaxy S27 Ultra’s camera layout is changing because of a charging decision. Tipster Lanzuk posted an image on Naver showing a Qi2 magnetic battery attached to the back of the phone with no case in between, and the report Forbes published works backwards from it: a pack that attaches without a case needs magnets built into the phone, the magnets need the centre of the back panel, and the vertical camera column occupies that space today. So the sensors move into a horizontal bar across the top, and the floating rings go. The Galaxy S26 has no built-in magnets at all, which is why Samsung sells cases with magnets in them and a pack that snaps onto those.
The battery is the other half of the leak. Samsung put silicon-carbon cells into the Galaxy Z Fold 8 in July, fitting 4,800mAh into a thinner and lighter body, and Galaxy Club has reported the same chemistry coming to the S27 Pro and S27 Ultra at roughly 5,200mAh and 5,700mAh. The S26 Ultra holds 5,000mAh. Ice Universe, described by Forbes as a reliable Samsung tipster, has the S27 line at four phones this time, with a Pro sitting between the Plus and the Ultra and rumoured to arrive without an S Pen. Samsung has announced none of it.
