Speaking after Galaxy Unpacked, Samsung executive Choi Jae-in told reporters the Galaxy Glasses would be priced reasonably but positioned in the premium range initially, and argued that tying the glasses directly to a Samsung phone should let them handle AI better than Meta can, since Meta sells no matching handset. Mashable carried the remarks via the Korea Times.
Premium is doing a lot of work in that sentence. Meta's own glasses start at $299, so the floor is set by a rival that has already been selling for two years. Samsung's own newsroom interview frames the product as the first step toward AI glasses as a mobile interface and likewise says nothing about whether the cameras record continuously. That is the question a buyer will ask first, and it has now gone unanswered twice.
