Apple brought back a ceramic case with Apple Watch Series 12, in two colors. It is the first ceramic model in seven years, since Series 5.
Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reported in August 2026 that Apple could bring back a ceramic case this year or in 2027. Later that month the leaker Kosutami said ceramic would return with Series 12, and Gurman said Apple had tested white and dark gray versions.
Ceramic ran from Series 2 to Series 5 and was dropped when Series 6 launched in 2020.
