Announced at WWDC on June 8, 2026. Siri AI arrives as a standalone app with a dynamic app grid, running full conversational AI on-wrist without an iPhone. It requires Series 9 or newer, and Series 12 gets it at launch. Apple Intelligence on Watch previously required a tethered iPhone 15 Pro or newer.
Apple Watch has had Siri for years, but until watchOS 27, it was the dumb version, voice commands that mostly just handed things off to your iPhone. watchOS 27 brings the actual AI-powered Siri to the wrist for the first time, two years after Apple rolled it out on iPhone. Early reviews of the new Siri are positive, and it comes with a dedicated app, expanded Apple Intelligence features, smarter fitness tools, and a redesigned interface.
