Tom's Guide's Nick Harris-Fry took the Beats 360 on a 10-mile run and found the fit secure: the headphones didn't budge on downhill stretches and never pressed on his ears. He says that if you like over-ear headphones for everything, they're the best running pair you can get. The catches are heat and sweat. The performance knit cushions were damp by the end and took about five hours to dry, so he recommends buying a second set, which costs $9 right now. He's also wary of what sweat will do over time to headphones rated only IPX4.

WIRED's Harry Rabinowitz scored them 7 out of 10 and landed in the same place on the gym. The swappable cushions and strong clamp keep them secure through most exercises, though not bicycle kicks or sprints, and battery life is up to 32 hours with noise canceling on. Sound is the weak spot. He says the midrange feels scooped out, and that they sound OK but not like $350 headphones next to the Sony, Sonos and Bose pairs he compares them with. That same clamp gets uncomfortable after a few hours at a desk. Both reviewers say they'd still pick earbuds for their own workouts.
