Samsung announced on October 22 that Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Fold 8 Ultra sales in Europe were 45% higher than the Fold 7's over their first nine weeks on sale. Samsung also cited Google search trends, with searches for the Galaxy Z8 series in Europe 260% higher in September and searches for the Fold 8 and Fold 8 Ultra 460% higher in the second week of the month.
That second week is when Apple announced the iPhone Duo. Samsung didn't name Apple in its announcement. New iPhone Duo orders in the U.S. now ship in January, and Apple is short of stock in many places heading into the holidays. The Fold 8 starts at €1,999 in Europe and the Fold 8 Ultra at €2,199, before discounts.
