Apple opened iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max pre-orders at 8am Eastern on Saturday, using a queue that holds a buyer’s place rather than the refresh scramble of past years. AppleInsider checked the store half an hour in and found no color or configuration of the iPhone 18 Pro showing a shipping delay in the US at all. Every one was still arriving Friday, September 18, and none of the 1TB or 2TB Pro Max models had moved either. They didn’t sell out. The first slip was the 256GB Pro Max in burgundy, which went from September 18 to a window of September 29 to October 6, and then to October 6 through October 13 an hour in.

The Pro starts at $1,199 for 256GB and the Pro Max at $1,299, with 512GB, 1TB and 2TB above that, in burgundy, glacier, silver and black. Apple is quoting trade-in credit of up to $885 on the Pro models, and orders are going through its own store and app, AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, Amazon and Best Buy, per Digital Trends. What buyers are ordering is the 2nm A20 Pro with 50 percent more memory bandwidth and a 40 percent faster GPU, a 48MP main camera with a physical variable aperture, and a battery Apple rates at 24 hours of real-world use on the Pro and 30 hours on the Pro Max.
