They're the first Spectacles sold to anyone, and everything runs in the frames. The catch is the price and a battery rated at about four hours.
Android Police wore Xreal's dual-screen Android XR glasses for an hour. Xreal says they ship this fall for no more than $1,500.
RayNeo's $399 GT Max is heavier than the cheaper Viture Pro 2 but felt more comfortable in a first hands-on, because its prism optics keep the weight off your nose and widen the view to 59 degrees.
A reviewer who liked the $600 pair says he would buy the $299 pair instead. Which apps work depends on the phone at the other end of the cable, not on the glasses.
XREAL will not name a price yet, only a ceiling of $1,500. The reservation that carried a $199 launch credit has sold out, and the deposits behind that number are refundable.
