What chip does Galaxy Watch 9 use?
The Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear Elite, a 3nm five-core platform. Samsung confirmed it for both Galaxy Watch9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra2 at Unpacked on July 22, 2026. Pre-launch reporting had suggested the chip might be exclusive to Ultra 2 with Watch9 keeping the Exynos W1000; that did not happen.
Does Galaxy Watch 9 have satellite connectivity?
No. Samsung's published specs list Bluetooth, Bluetooth plus LTE, Wi-Fi, NFC and dual-frequency GPS, with no satellite messaging. The Snapdragon Wear Elite platform underneath is NB-NTN capable, but Samsung has not enabled satellite connectivity on Galaxy Watch9.
How much better is Galaxy Watch 9 battery life vs Watch 8?
The 40mm battery grows to 390mAh, up from 325mAh in Watch8 40mm, and is rated up to 30 hours with always-on display. The 44mm goes to 445mAh, rated up to 60 hours with always-on display. The Snapdragon Wear Elite chip replaces Watch8's Exynos W1000.
